Meet maybe at 9 am, any taker's or other ideas. I probably left someone out, Widge  Please add your thoughts, ideas,

realize that to secure a time for this is premature. Perhaps Thursday, before meeting at Sleder's in the everning, would be a better time for this, anyone interested?

Someone take along a digital camera and a tape recorder or video recorder so we can post the results and have a virtual tour preserved on the website.

I guess I have to find a way to get up there by Thursday afternoon.

Maybe we should bike... that's how I used to get around most of the time in grade school.

Walking around the Wild West Side sounds great.  My mom still lives at 439 Monroe.  She 'll stand out on the sidewalk with water for all the kiddies walking by.

Hey Betsy, pick me up on Spruce St. and we can drive through downtown a couple of times with the radio tuned to WCCW and the windows down.  Too bad Tron can't make!

Speaking of Willow Hill, look over the class photos in Photo Galleries / Grade School Photos and see how many classmates you can identify.  I've started a list for the morning kindergarden which needs a lot of filling in.  Anyone want to start a list for the other grades?

wow, this is beginning to really sound fun. I would rather not bike, as I don't have one and I like to walk and talk. I can understand why Roger was on a bike, he lived a ways away. to get to Roger's and everyone else's will take some time. that is good, we do not have to race. Maybe we could pack a lunch or pretend it's Halloween and stop in at different homes for a snack. Is Thursday the Day for this. A long walk and talk stroll would be good. Who's got a map. We could map in out so there's be a route in case people had to catch up at different times.

I forgot Anne Marie Raftshol, Patsy Berg, Jeff Branden, Barbara Storrs, Sorry, it is a big area. I remember the inside of all the the girl's houses. Can someone post a map of the entire area and we can figure out the route. Is Elmwood Park still there? We could maybe take a break there?

Oops, I also forgot J.C. Morgan. We've got to put all of these names on the maps and maybe stop in a visit with parents (and or teachers,) like Betsy's mom, depending on who is still there. When I looked at the grade school class pictures that Roger saved and posted Miss Young didn't really look old anymore, did she?

Hey you guys!!  What about my house?  Actually I guess that I was considered on the 'outer limits' as we then lived on South Spruce Street.  But, I remember walking by every single house that you guys have mentioned!! In sixth grade we lived on West Front St.  No bus rides for us kids - and what fun we had!  I remember walking 'through the woods' to get to school every morning, and how great it was.  Don't remember EVER having bad weather back then, so Mom and Dad must have driven us then.  I miss you guys!!  How can we be this old - and have grandkids doing what we did?  Oh, Heaven Forbid!!

how do you envision this reunion? How many of lus can walk around the area? How hot does it get? Should we meet at the beach? Should we stop in and visit people or their parents? What would make it worthwhile for you to be there?
for me, I like to walk, look, talk. And it is good to have a hand to hold, metaphoriacally or actually as I feel the lose of all the changes and also the joy that memeories can bring. Are there classmates who were close to us that are shut in somehow in these neighborhoods? Could we /should we visit? Or parents?
I am actually a little apprehensive regarding the Heat. I remember it and there is very little out here.

Keith, why am I not surprised that you set fire to the woods! : )   Widge,  are you talking about the woods between Hill and Wayne St.? Ashton Park? If so, the woods are definitely still there. That's part of my walking route.
