is this user friendly, I want to see if this works this time before I write a bunch of new garbage about who I think I am at this time, which is a continually changing circulstance. Widge is was and probably what you remember persists despite all of my efforts at change and renewal.

it worked, with all the spelling mistakes.

so..what do we have in common and what are our differences after 40 years? Much in common due to our age and place or origin, and many wide and various differences. new frontiers for me are T'ai Chi (past 3 years), mindfulness, awareness, or allowing myself to be aware of what I am experiencing in the moment--which is a continuous challenge. Who's out there reading this? I feel alone. Widge

Clicking on the Discussion Groups item on the left side menu on every screen gets you to that web page.

Then click on Message Board to get to the Message Board selection page.
There you have four choices: Forums | New Topic | View Threads | Mark All Read

Forums - gets you back to Discussion Groups.

New Topic - gets you to the message screen that allows you to post the first message for a new topic (i.e. new message thread). The first message Title becomes the name of the new Topic.  If a new topic is inappropriate or really is a duplicate of an existing topic, a moderator may change or remove it.

View Threads - expands all topics to show the various threads (series of postings to each topic)  When you do this, the thrid option changes to Collapse Threads which un-does the View Threads.

Mark All Read - not sure this does anything but collapse threads if they were expanded..

Click on a Topic to view the messages posted under that topic.

Click any additional Page #s to view additional pages.

There are two menu choices:  Message Board  | Post Reply

Message Board - takes you back to the list of topics.

Post Reply - allows you post a reply to the current topic thread.

Fill in your first and last name( required), your email address (optional), and a brief but descriptive Title (required).  Enter your message in the Body box (required).  You may want to compose your message on a word processor such as Word or Wordperfect where a spellchecker is available.  Then highlight, copy, and paste your message into the Body box

You do have an option to include an image file (such as a photo, .jpg or .gif format) with your posting.  If so, enter the pathname of the file you want to upload into the Attach File box or click on Browse to find the file on your computer or network via a File Upload pop-up window and click on the filename to enter it into the Attach File box.  (see sample Attached File below)

Finally, choose Post Reply to actually post your message or Cancel to abort the posting.

Be courteous and careful in your postings... postings are public and traceable.

What a wonderful website..........!!  Thankyou, Rog for putting it together.
The Willow Hill class pictures brought back alot of memories for me.........what were the little dolls we collected way before barbies?  Remember playing marbles during recess?  Walking to and from school with each other.
The Reunion will give us the opportunity to try to recognize  each other:).......... but the website is where we can get to know each other again.

Barb, I certainly didn't collect dolls, but I do remember playing marbles. mostly 'odd or even' or 'closest to the wall' at Willow Hill recess.

I also remember some of us boys playing 'stick'em' which involved standing face to face and throwing a jackknife to make its blade stick in the ground outside of your opponents foot and he having to move his foot to that spot without falling over, then taking the knife and taking his turn.  The first one to fall over or not 'sticking' the knife lost.  I like to think we had more substantial shoes back then.  Can't even think about playing such a game at recess now days.

We also played 'work-up' softball up to 3 times a day... and 'kind of the hill' on the bigger snow piles in the winter.  We also used to 'ski' down the big bank behind the Willow Hill gym in our street shoes in the winter.

The website is pretty straight forward to setup and maintain, but the real payoff is getting lots of content from as many classmates as possible.  Anyone having trouble scanning or posting photos can contact me.

who's included and who is excluded

as I think about coming back for the reujnion it brings up lots of issues, which is maybe why I have been avboiding it for so long.these things are not in order. First, why does it have to be so expensive? That is an exclusion right away. Can't it be held at a gym or church or public place and catered or pot lucked. It is mostly the getting together for me that seems important.
Then there is the pain that so many students went through and the learnings they gained or didn't and the separation that happened betwee people and the gossip that tried to tie it all together but that is indirect and can be very harmful. There is gossip that I am sure is said about me, and after all these years I would like to know what it is. There are people that I avoid and others that avoid me. I am also sometimes an outsider and want in. At other times I ignore others and wrap myself up in a self satisfied way. I am still oblivious to many things, I do not want to go back to a reunion and become my 13 year old self who is only interested in stimulation and excitement. And I also do want that. We are in a war now and for me the state of the environment, our nation, materialism can be depressingl. Am I trying to avoid a natural and needed depression by focusing my attention on the happiness of my yeaqrs in High school. Especailly since, even there, my own enjoyment I am now questioning. I appreciate hearing from the sceptics, dry wit, depressives with their feet on the ground. And from those who, like me, are sort of Pollyanna ish and just want to skip and play with others. My memory of childhood brings me up, for many those memories have the opposite effect. Who are a reunion allow for everyone to be there as they are?

Ah, the sweet bliss of grade school.  I, too, have so many fond memories, but cannot remember any special dolls before Barbie.  I mostly played baseball with all the boys at Boardman.  My girl world consisted of Vickie Springer, Sue Schroeder, Janet Gallihugh, Linda Swan, Kathy Hagen.....Vickie and I were always in the top row with all the tallest boys for photo ops.  Drats, if we had only appreciated them then.....

I would love to hear from any old Boardman classmates.  Anybody remember the fire escape in the summer.  It was our special place to hide and slide.

Im an old classmate of the Boardman school and would love to see any photos of the school and class pictures if anyone has them available.  Yes. I remember the fire escape.......oh what fun!  A memory of sodapop,  contained in dry ice at what must have been our school carnival. It was always held outdoors during good weather. Lots of games, etc.  .The big stairway. Learning  how to use a telephone .  Thats REALLY scarey!

Thanks, Barb for the Boardman memories.  Did you go all the way to George Farrell at Boardman?  I will take a look in the attic for pictures.  I started there in 2nd grade, having moved to the big city from Walloon Lake.

who is reading this? and will you respond?

It seems like connection happens in twos, oneperson being with another, before in happens in a larger group. So reunion means to me connection one on one first. Sharing memories, current commonalities and differences and one weekend just is not enough time. I would appreciate, since I have been gone so long, if you connact me before the reunion yourself so we cn have a little connection before the Big Overwhelm. Even a bad memory of me is better than nothing/
