It's time to start planning for our 45th Reunion.

Please add your comments on how it should be set up... less formal, more formal, or about the same?  Still have grade school get-togethers?

Leave a message here if you want to help with the planning... which you can do even if you're not in TC.  Several of us were spread out across the US during the planning for the 40th Reunion, but it was a lot of fun and definitely worth it.

Use Post Reply above to keep all responses here in one place.

UPDATE: Our TCHS Class of 1965 45th Reunion will be on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Elks Lodge, 625 Bay Street at Division in Traverse City. On the prior night, Friday, August 13, we will have a 45th Reunion Dance Party at Mt. Holiday (the old Holiday Hills).   Stay tuned for details.  But volunteers should go ahead with planning for associated Grade School Get-togethers that week or weekend.

The next 45th Reunion Planning Meeting is Wednesday, March 24, 2009, 5:00pm, at Minerva's (ground floor at the Park Place).
At this gathering, reunion committee members will nail down certain 45th reunion weekend event details, such as menus and pricing for both the Friday night and Saturday night events.

All classmates are invited to come to the planning meeting to share their thoughts and ideas and..... to reconnect before the reunion!

The grade school get togethers worked very well for the 40th reunion, and I would like to see something similar for the 45th as well.

Hello Everyone,
I agree the 40th reunion was great and I plan top work on the next one. Just wanted you all to know that our summer home on the Pennisula is almost done and we hope that you will stop out during the Parade of Homes, after which, we will be moving in for the summer and then back here in Hawaii for the cold months - can hardlly believe that our retirement is finally near! Ralph has sold his business and I have merged with Passageways (outside sales only..no desk job!) and will be promoting Hawaii when we are in TC in the summer and then bringing groups (mostly cruises) in during the winter months when we are here in Hawaii. The 'best of both worlds'...we are sooooo excited! Stay in touch and keep me posted on working on the 45th!
Fond Aloha,
Judy

Greetings from the frozen Cherry Capital   (UP NORTH)   Still plenty of snow
here.  Let's go for another great reunion.  Has it been 3 years since I saw
most of you?   I would like to help.  My many interests keep me busy but
what is one more ?  New job 3 days a week plus Bible Study and now on
a TC  commission volunteer committee to provide citizen input to city
manager also involved in Tree of Life Healing Prayer Ministry as a prayer
minister.  Let me know how I can help.     Blessings,   Sheralyn Beattie

The 40TH reunion was wonderful.  I am certain the 45TH will be even better.  I enjoyed our Norris school reunion especially - what a wonderful group of people.  JB and I will definitely be attending.  God Bless, Mare

The 40th was wonderful.  In in favor of a 45th!

Best features last time: having multiple events, outdoor venues, grade school gatherings.

Unnecessary features:  Although the big dinner at the Maritime academy was well done and enjoyable, I'm wondering if the big ticket event is even necessary any longer!  Most of us are just so appreciative of seeing each other that I suspect we don't need the fanfare.

For the 45th, how about minimum of two events, maybe a third (Sat noon picnic?).....less formal settings....good food, but not fancy....background music rather than DJ (we'd rather talk)....and
a lot of encouragement to each grade school to do something special.

Big thanks to Roger for keeping this site alive.  It's nice to know that our class is well represented in cyber space.

Wow, how time flies!  It is never too early to kick around ideas and thoughts for our up-coming 45th reunion.  I lean toward Ted Smith's thoughts:  in that our focus  might be better spent, this time, on providing an environment for easy interaction to occur.  Music is a plus, at least for me, as I love to watch Bob, Dale, Lance, Widge, and countless others, dancing to the songs of our era!

Hopefully I will be able to at least make an appearence. I would like to see and talk to everyone. I was last in TC in 1992. I looked up many friends then. I like living in Florida. But I do miss walking down town on a monday looking in the windows when all the stores are closed. kAnyone remember.

40th was incredible!  Brought me back home, so really looking forward to  what 45th has in store?!!?  Enjoyed grade school meeting and Friday night outdoor gathering and seeing teachers.  More informal and less pricey venue Saturday may draw more???   Memorial was very moving.  Maybe a memories theme (poem, drawing, story, photo).  I don't know about you, but I remember more clearly some teen events then what I did last winter.   Ideas?   Hope to see some of you this summer of 09.

I'm looking forward to the 45th.  Hope to be able to help with the planning. The 40th was really cool. Let me know if/what I can do to help with it.
Hugs,
Bonnie
