Carolyn, 71, passed away peacefully at her home in Buckley on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018. Â Carolyn was born on Oct. 17, 1946 to Helen Katherine (nee Cram) and Donald 'Jack' Burd in Traverse City. Â She was married to Everett O. Seeley in 1965. Together they had three children.
Carolyn was a talented seamstress. Â She worked for many years as a manager at a local dry cleaning service and at a popular fabric store. Â One of her famous accomplishments was sewing the curtains for the Traverse City Opera House. Â Carolyn was a strong-willed and nurturing person with the ability to take any handful of ingredients and make a wonderful feast. Â Whether you were family or a friend, you could never leave her home without sharing a meal and a story or two.
Carolyn is survived by her mother, Helen Katherine Charavay; sons, Robert E. Seeley, of North Carolina, and Randy J. Seeley, of Buckley; sisters, Suzanne Robertson, of Saginaw, and Bonnie Lake, of North Carolina; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; life partner, Everett O. Seeley; and her beloved pets, Cricket and Blossom. Â She was preceded in death by her father, Donald 'Jack' Burd; daughter, Janine M. Seeley; and grandson, Thomas E. Seeley. Â
As per her wishes, no funeral was held. Â An informal gathering took place at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 at the Manistee River High Banks Rollaway in Wexford County. Â Bright colors were worn in celebration of her life and legacy.
