Larry D. Rountree, 53, of Interlochen and a resident of this area all of his adult life, died Tuesday, November 7, 2000.
   He was born Feb. 5, 1947, in Topeka, Kan., the son of Edward and Maxine (Kubesh) Rountree.
   He worked at the Traverse City State Hospital for many years and was also employed at the Interlochen State Park. Later, he was employed as a carpenter.
   Larry enjoyed hunting and golfing. He was a member of the Interlochen Eagles and the American Military League. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Thailand and Hawaii.
   Surviving are three children, Amy (Terry) Stevens of Kingsley, Sara (Todd) Thayer of Traverse City, and Mandy Rountree of Traverse City; five brothers and sisters, Robert (Sue) Rountree of Interlochen, twin brother, Richard Rountree of Traverse City, Mark (Robin) Domine of Traverse City, Marcia (Pat) Magee of Gwinn, and Dawn Goss of Traverse City; fiancee, Stephanie Jaratz of Interlochen; grand daughter, Haley Stevens; and several nieces and nephews.
   Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Victoria in 1991, and a brother John R. Domine in infancy.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the VFW Cherryland Post No. 2780.
