Proper, Susan Diane Bhagat

Susan Diane Bhagat (nee Proper), age 77, a six-year resident of Napervi le, IL, formerly of Traverse City, Grand Blanc and Suttons Bay, MI, passed away on January 11, 2025. She was born July 4, 1947, in Bay City, MI to Robert Leo and Donna Monine (nee Roueche) Proper.

Susan graduated from Traverse City Senior High School in 1965 and Hurley School of Nursing in 1969. She raised three children in Grand Blanc, MI and was a very active volunteer in their schools and in the community. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, embroidery, reading and visiting the casinos with friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness to others and her willingness to always lend a hand.

Susan is survived by her children, Brian (Michelle) Bhagat, Sara (Joshua Foxson) Bhagat, and Andrew (Jennifer) Bhagat; her grandchildren, Emily and Tyler Bhagat, Sophie and Hannah Foxson, and Isabel and Brady Bhagat; and her siblings, Julie (Rory) Umlor, Ken (Deanna) Reece, and Marc (Diana) Reece; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Jacquelyn (William) Rennie.

Services will be private. Future inturnment will be held at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens, Traverse City, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan's memory may be made to: PBS at www.wttw.com or the World Central Kitchen at wck.org.
