COX RADEMACHER, BILLIE A

Billie Ann Rademacher, 65, of Traverse City and formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Billie Ann was born on Monday, June 2, 1947, to Diana Mary (Shomin) and Richard Willard Cox. She graduated from Traverse City Central High School. She was married to Joseph Rademacher, who preceded her in death.

Billie had made her home in Grand Rapids for 40 years and had been an administrative assistant for Interstate Motor Freight, Grand Valley State University and most recently for the United Methodist Church West Michigan District, all in the Grand Rapids Area. Three years ago she returned to Traverse City where she was active with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, serving on the Elder's Advisory Committee. Billie enjoyed traveling, dancing and was an avid reader. She especially enjoyed time spent at the casino. Billie was also a loving caregiver to her Mom since moving back to Traverse City.

Billie is survived by her sons, Joel (Trisha) Huhtala and Jody Huhtala, all of Grand Rapids, and Anthony (Tricia) TenHoor of Florida; her granddaughters, Izabella and Manayashance; her mom, Diana Cox of Traverse City; and her sisters, Ryckie (Dan) Skeba of Cedar, Mary (Ed) Geiger of Traverse City and Nita (Bill) Hawes of Tennessee; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; and by her father Richard Cox.
A service celebrating Billie's life took place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at The Strongheart Civic Center, 2605 N. West Bay Shore Dr., Peshawbestown. Fr. Ron Gronowski and Sam McClellan officiated.

Billie's cremated remains were buried next to her husband Joe at Resurrection Cemetery in Grand Rapids.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Munson Hospice and Doctors Gordon and Schwert, as well as the nursing staff on C-4 at Munson Medical Center for the loving care they provided Billie.
