Notes for the May 19th Committee Meeting:
Present: Sally, Ted and Anne, Myrna, Pamela, Elaine, Jack (Keyes) and Don

Pamela presented a financial overview of our resources and after re-paying obligations (prepayments of class ‘lenders’) and the expense of mass-mailings, all being offset by recent pre-paid reunion subscriptions, of which were generated by our mailings, we are finally in the black!

Myrna gave us an update as to her recent explorations into the world of ‘silent auctions,’ and along with Tron’s previous and continuous enlightenment and knowledge; we have a clear course as to what it will take to run a ‘quality first class event.’ Already classmates are offering items for the auction even without any committee-sponsored announcements. The attendees generated considerable discussion with many ideas. Sally (Smith) Berlin donated many items from her gourmet food and gift shop in Beulah, Ted Smith’s son-in-law, the Head Tennis Pro at the Grand Traverse Resort, has donated Tennis lessons. A time-line of from 6:00 to 9:00PM was discussed and approved. Previously, Ruth Ann and Don have signed up to assist Myrna.

Tom Killman was not present, but he jotted down a few ideas for our discussion, one of which, is that he recommended we design a letter to give to the possible ‘donors,’ acknowledging our intentions and documenting that a donation (and reason for which it will be used) is being made to the TCHS Class of 1965.

Due to the recent requests and interests of a few ‘non-classmates’ whom desire to participate with us during our ‘Classmate Memorial,’ the floor was opened for discussions. It was decided to open this scheduled and time-sensitive reunion event to everyone, allowing and insisting, that each ‘passed classmate’ is honored equally and the same, and that all past and previously agreed upon formats are kept in place.

The ‘Friday-Holiday Inn/Tent Party,’ was discussed, and determined that upscale and more desirable appetizers (rather than chips and nuts) be made available as there was concern of the event being scheduled during our ‘normal meal time hour.’ We were fortunate to have Jack (Keyes) join us for the evening of planning, and accepted his offer to take pictures of classmates and download the very same pictures onto a CD for our Saturday night viewing pleasure! While we in no way finished the planning of this particular event it was discussed that the onsite theme be a ‘ casual get-together’ and that little, if any, funds be expended on decorations. Oh, and Pamela was of course right, the ‘outside’ band stops at 9:00PM, and that band is: ‘Luther Gravy and the Soul Biscuits,’ and then, if we’re interested, and still walking, talking and standing, the ‘inside band,’ is Risqué till 2:00AM.

Concerning the Saturday Night Hagerty Center Event, it was universally agreed upon that we truly need someone to be the: Saturday Night Coordinator (Team). We unanimously agreed that one person fits the ‘bill,’ as she is energetic, charismatic, overflowing with spirit, and perhaps with her close friend, whom possesses the exact same qualities, together, would make the perfect team! But, unfortunately neither of them was present. Any guesses? Meeting adjourned.
